# Defending Complex Systems in the AI Era

## Not in Theory, But in Practice

AI doesn't replace security fundamentals; it shifts where trust boundaries exist. Learn how to identify, prioritize, and neutralize cyber threats in AI-integrated systems through practical exercises designed to build real-world defensive skills.

## Duration

One-day workshop featuring hands-on activities, practical exercises, and a final integration exercise

## Letter of Completion

Letter documenting 8 contact hours, which may be used to claim Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements for industry certifications.

## Digital Badge

Upon successful completion, graduates earn a [Credly Digital Badge](https://www.credly.com/org/ct-cubed/badge/defending-complex-systems-in-the-ai-era)

## Upcoming Sessions

No sessions are currently scheduled. Interested in this course? Add your name and we'll contact you when one is.

## Who Should Attend | Open to all experience levels

- Cybersecurity Practitioners
- IT Professionals
- AI Solutions Architects
- Systems Engineers
- Software Engineers
- Product Owners
- Risk and Resource Managers
- Government & Policy Professionals
- Anyone Involved in Product Design

## Academics

- Security Concepts
- Designing Trustworthy Machines
- Adaptive Layered Defenses
- Emergent Threats in Smart Systems
- Adversary Tactics and Countermeasures

## Activities

- MOUSE Drone Mission Review
- MOUSE Computer Vision Pipeline
- Risk Assessments

## Final Integration Exercise

Fly the MOUSE Drone through a simulated mission while responding to live cyber attacks targeting both traditional subsystems and AI-enabled capabilities. Teams apply security concepts and defense-in-depth strategies to protect their drone and complete mission objectives under adversarial conditions.

## MOUSE Training Platform

This workshop uses the [MOUSE MKIII Drone](/content/training-platforms#mouse-mkiii/index.html) as a platform for defending AI-integrated systems. AI-enabled computer vision (EO/IR subsystem) expands mission capabilities across several areas, while simultaneously increasing system complexity and risk.

- Design and secure the MOUSE Drone against real-world threats
- Use limited resources to apply defense-in-depth across all subsystems to ensure mission success
