# Foundations of Cyber-Resilient Engineering

## Build Security In From Day One

Learn the core principles of secure system design and embed cyber-resilience from the start. This workshop covers threat modeling, secure architecture patterns, and risk-informed design decisions that balance security with performance and usability, showing you how early security decisions can slash costs, cut technical debt, and boost system resilience.

## Duration

One-day workshop featuring hands-on activities, practical exercises, and a final integration exercise.

## Letter of Completion

Letter documenting 8 contact hours, which may be used to claim Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements for industry certifications.

## Digital Badge

Upon successful completion, graduates earn a [Credly Digital Badge](https://www.credly.com/org/ct-cubed/badge/foundations-of-cyber-resilient-engineering).

## Upcoming Sessions

No sessions are currently scheduled. Interested in this course? Add your name and we'll contact you when one is.

## Who Should Attend | Open to all experience levels

- Anyone Involved in Product Design
- Individuals New to Cybersecurity
- Systems Engineers
- IT Professionals
- Software Engineers
- Product Owners
- Risk and Resource Managers
- Government & Policy Professionals

## Academics

- Security Concepts
- Secure Designs
- Defense-in-Depth
- Threats to Systems
- Attacks and Mitigations

## Activities

- MOUSE Rover Mission Review
- Defense-in-Depth Security Application
- Risk Assessments

## Final Integration Exercise

Drive the MOUSE Rover through a simulated mission while responding to live cyber attacks. Teams apply the security concepts and defense-in-depth strategies learned throughout the day to protect their rover and complete mission objectives under adversarial conditions.

## MOUSE Training Platform

This workshop uses the [MOUSE MKII Rover](/content/training-platforms#mouse-mkii/index.html) as a platform for applying secure design principles in a realistic system-of-systems environment where multiple subsystems must operate together reliably.

- Design and secure the MOUSE Rover against real-world threats.
- Use limited resources to apply defense-in-depth across all subsystems to ensure mission success.
